I recently got back my first batch of film from the lab since I began shooting film. I took everything from the coast, people, nature, dog, and still life shots. I’m in love! To get myself psyched for shooting, I’ve been reading a book dated 1979 called Photography & the Art of Seeing (just $4.50 on Thriftbooks.com!) The author Freeman Patterson talks about how to get out of my fixed idea about what makes a good photo and learn to see amazing things in the everyday. Pretty quickly I was out shooting all sorts of things I’d never noticed. Here’s a quick sampling of my experiments in seeing and shooting in both color and b/w. Let me know what you think.
I’ve been posting lots more on my Instagram account here.
