Framed by a city

I recently started to see my city San Francisco as a frame for how I see the world around me – the people, the places, even the meaning of things. In photography and art, we use frames to separate the work from the environment. What’s within the frame is what is expected to be in focus. But what if the frame itself is the interesting part? Or at least as interesting as the content within.
